Navigating Enforcement Responses
Arriving at the Right Decision

Although local authorities are tasked with taking appropriate enforcement action within their own districts, it is critical that they strive for consistency at a national level.  Based on past experience, an enforcement response taken in one region may differ greatly from that taken in another.

What leads to efficient and consistent decision making?

This presentation will lift the lid on the regulatory toolbox available for making proportionate, reasoned decision-making in response to environmental incidents.  Relying on practical experience in this area, the presenters will explore the principles and processes for effective enforcement decision-making and provide practical tips to those responsible for deciding where an investigation ends up.
