Alex McMinn is the Principal Advisor Regulatory System Capability at the Ministry for Regulation, having transitioned to this role from MBIE with the G-REG team on May 1st. With over 15 years of experience in regulatory practice, Alex has honed his expertise at organisations like WorkSafe NZ, where he was Manager of Regulatory Practice, and at the NZ Transport Agency, serving as Manager of Driver and Operator Standards. Currently leading the Regulatory Practice Component of the Early Childhood Education regulatory review, Alex is also focussing on enhancing the capabilities of regulatory systems and people who do regulatory work. His career is marked by a dedication to bridging diverse perspectives and tackling complex challenges through collective action, a testament to his belief in the power of working together to make progress.
