Forestry NES-PF Panel Discussion

A practical perspective

Following NRC's 'NES - PF implementation in Northland' presentation last year, we are back again for round two, this time with an insight into how we implement the NES - PF in the field and the challenges we have discovered along the way. With input from our RMA Forestry Development Group, we have been able to use industry feedback to create a consistent approach for monitoring and assessing compliance under the NES - PF. From the development of a risk matrix to identify when a site visit is required, to monitoring with drones, we have really learnt a lot over the past year and a half. Some key aspects covered in this presentation include; how we have set up a monitoring programme that meets our reporting requirements, the tools and processes we have developed to assess compliance, industry response to the NES - PF in Northland and how that reflects in the field.
