A forestry enforcement journey

Gisborne District Council’s forestry enforcement journey has involved the Council going from doing little or no compliance and enforcement work in the forestry context to being the leading Council in NZ in relation to forestry compliance and enforcement work.   The Council’s enforcement approach is still evolving, with a current focus being on enforcement orders to address the large scale environmental impacts of forestry on the region.
